Obituary

Salem: Andre G. Moreau age 76 of Salem, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Millbury Health Care Center in Millbury, following a brief illness. Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Gerard and Laurette (Michaud) Moreau.

Born into a musical family, he studied voice at the Berkley School of Music. Andre’s venue was light opera, musical comedy as well as sacred music. He was a well known tenor in the greater Boston as well as the North Shore areas. In addition to his many roles in professional, semiprofessional and summer stock musical productions, he was soloist for several churches in these areas.

In addition to his musical career, he and his friend and partner bought the Norfolk Flower Shop of Quincy which they ran for many years until their retirement.

He is survived by 3 sisters, Bernadette White and her husband Thomas of Ft. Myers, FL, Fernande L’Italien and her husband Michael of Salem, Muriel L. Campbell of Sutton, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Moreau and his devoted companion of 54 years, Daniel M. Demeule.

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by a committal service in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
