Obituary

William T. Curtin, 81 years, of Brockton, died unexpectedly November 5, 2010 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Jean F. (Mackin) Curtin. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Tuite) Curtin. Bill had been employed as a Brockton Letter Carrier for 33 years; was a Korean War Veteran and lifelong member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed time spent with his family; taking long walks with his brother Peter; working in his yard; playing the lottery and was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed spending winters in Reddington Shores, FL.

Bill is also survived by his eight children, William Curtin, Jr. and his wife Denise, Deborah Curtin, Marianne Curtin, Peter Curtin, Paul Curtin and his wife Gina and Kevin Curtin all of Brockton; Alice Doherty and her husband William of East Sandwich and Thomas Curtin and his wife Nancy of Mashpee; 12 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Peter Curtin of Brockton, Anne Lanoue of Bridgewater, Margaret Paynter of Florida and the late Joseph, Anthony, Robert and John Curtin; Mary Reardon, Ramona Reardon and Gertrude Kelly.

Private family services were held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery. Donations may be made in Bill’s name to the Lindsay A. Curtin Memorial Scholarship, 25 Faxon Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
