Obituary

Simone Leclerc, 85, of Old River Rd., Manville, died Sunday at South County Hospital. She was the wife of Germain A. Leclerc. They were married on September 4, 1948.
Born in Manville, she was a daughter of the late Michel and Rosa (Pontbriand) Laprade. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
Mrs. Leclerc worked for Miller Electric in Woonsocket for several years before dedicating herself to being a homemaker.
Simone’s life centered on her family and being an active parishioner of St. James Church.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by a son, Ronald E. Leclerc, and his wife Debra, of Richmond, RI, a daughter Suzanne Guertin, and her husband Paul, of Lincoln, and a granddaughter, Amy Guertin of Brookline, MA. She was the sister of Claire Millette of Cumberland and the late Constant “Cy”, Rosario, Paul, and Roger Laprade, and Lorraine Voyer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Divison St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7pm.
