New Bedford … Stella V. (Polak) Cimochowski, 91, of Fall River died Sunday, November 7, 2010.
She was the widow of Matthew Cimochowski.
She died at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late Walter and Zofia (Swist) Polak and had been a lifelong resident of Fall River.
She was employed as a Floor Lady with Louis Hand for 30 years retiring in 1983.
She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River where she was past president of the Holy Rosary Sodality and volunteered with various committees.
Stella was on the board of directors of the former Polish National Home and she enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her family and was devoted to her faith.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Sophie Furtado of CA, and Barbara Bandarra and her husband Bryan of Dartmouth, 6 grandchildren: Diane Vick, James Furtado, Katelin Hartigan, Casey Bandarra, Shannon Bandarra, and Matthew Bandarra, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Dawn Gardner and the sister of the late Helen Szymkowski, Raymond Polak, and Adam Polak.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 10AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, Slocum Rd., Dartmouth. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
