MANCHESTER– Gertrude A. Roy, 95, died November 7, 2010 at the Villa Crest Nursing and Retirement Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on August 31, 1915 the daughter of Joseph and Georgianna (Dodier) Lavoie and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
She was predeceased by her husband George J. Roy who died July 10, 1972.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for Manchester Memorial High School.
She was an avid gardener, loved music, dancing and her cat Mittens. She was a former parishioner of St. Theresa Church.
Members of her family include three daughters, Lucille Paradis of Londonderry, Mrs. Roland (Doris) Labbe of Deland, FL., Mrs. Peter (Diane) Limoges of Suffolk, VA., seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church, S. Elm St. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
