TEWKSBURY - Josephine M. (Signore) Furbish, 75, a former employee of J J Cleaners inTewksbury, died Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Wentworth Skilled Care Center in Lowell after alengthy illness. She was the wife of George H. Furbish Jr., with whom she had celebrated a 55thwedding anniversary this past Nov. 27th.
She was born in Woodbridge, CT, Nov. 28, 1928, a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary(Lamonica) Signore. She was raised in Connecticut, but moved to Tewksbury in 1956.
She worked at J J Cleaners, in Tewksbury until retirement.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church, a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club,and a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Anita Carris of East Haven, CT; a brother andtwo sisters-in-law, Alfred “Babe” and his wife Joan (Toly) Signore of PA, Marie (Perrotti)Signore of CT; two aunts, Phyllis Ashley and Mae Norton both of NY, and several nieces andnephews.
She was also sister of the late Kathryn Wittemen and Stephen Signore.
Her funeral was held Dec. 17, with interment in Gibson Cemetery, Pelham, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. Lawrence,MA 01843 will be appreciated.
