Pearl (Taylor) Moynihan died on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Nevins Nursing Centre, Methuen.
Pearl was born on the Russell Farm, now Brooks School, on January 2, 1918, a “New Year’s Baby,” the first baby born in North Andover that year. There, her parents Harry E. and Blanche Taylor raised their children Pearl, Irene, Mary and Harry; afterwards living on the Bass Farm in Peterborough, N.H. before moving to Methuen. She graduated from Methuen High School with the class of 1935.
Together with her husband, John R. Moynihan, they built their home, stone by stone, raising and caring for their children there. She enjoyed a life full of adventures large and small; upheld by her faith, the love of her family, church and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, John; her youngest son, Charles A. Moynihan; her sisters, Irene and Mary.
She is survived by her children: John Taylor Moynihan, his wife, Jamie and their children Jeremy and Cassidie; Mary Lee Moynihan; Raymond Landolt and his wife, Cindy and their children Matt and Christina; her brother, Harry E. Taylor, Jr.; her brother-in-law, Arthur G. Ellis; many nieces and nephews and their children.
ARRANGEMENTS: calling hours will be on Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 4-7pm at the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Family and friends are invited to gather at the First Baptist Church, 30 Park St., Methuen on Monday, November 8 to attend funeral services at 11am. Burial in Brentwood Cemetery, Brentwood, NH. will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 30 Park St., Methuen or to the charity of ones choice.
