Anne M. (Mahoney) Makin, 75, of Dartmouth died November 4, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Robert A. Makin.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Loretto (Riley) Mahoney, she lived in New Bedford and South Dartmouth all of her life.
Mrs. Makin was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She was a past president of both the College Club of Greater New Bedford and the New Bedford Day Nursery.
Survivors include her husband Robert; two sons, Thomas Makin and his wife Elizabeth of Northport, NY and Andrew Makin and his wife Marci of Fairfax City, VA; a daughter, Elizabeth Parker and her husband John of Ada, MI; a sister, Louise Kennedy of Falmouth; and seven grandchildren, Thomas A. Makin, Jr., Laura Makin, Patrick Makin, Madeline Parker, Jack Parker, Peter Makin and William Makin.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Wednesday, November 10th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth at 10 AM. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 9th from 4-8 PM.
