Keister Nelson Moore, age 67, of 105 Longview Avenue, Danville, VA, left this world peacefully in the early morning hours of November 4, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.
Keister was born in Pittsylvania County on July 29, 1943, a son of the late Flournoy Bouldin Moore and Grace Marilla Moore. Keister had such a sweet spirit and was well loved by all who were privileged to have know him. He was an active member of Longview Friends Church and was there for both Sunday services three days before his death.
Survivors include four sisters: Serrelza Blalock of Winston Salem, NC, Jean Maggio of Daytona Beach, FL, Anne Arbogast and Carolyn Megginson, both of Danville; one brother: Shelton Moore of Danville. He also leaves his best friend, his dog “Jack”. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by seven brothers: Guy Hoover Moore, Bouldin Moore, John Moore, Lawrence “Phil” Moore, Doug Moore, William “Ruben” Moore, and Kenneth Moore.
A memorial service for Keister will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at two o’clock p.m. at the Longview Friends Church, officiated by Rev. Edd Dodson. The family will receive friends at 3933 Westover Drive, Danville, VA.
