Gayle (Emerson) Locke, 75, a lifelong resident of Walpole, died, Thursday, November 4, 2010 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Earl F. Locke Jr. who died in 1982.
Born on May 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Conant) Emerson.
Mrs. Locke worked at Caritas Christi Homecare doing administrative work for 15 years until her retirement in 2009.
Mrs. Locke loved to travel and enjoyed going to the Cape to visit her friends, Albert and Patty Lamperti. She also enjoyed cooking and loved caring for animals, especially her dogs.
She is survived by her son Earl F. Locke III of Chapel Hill, NC and her granddaughter Regina Locke of West Virginia.
She is also survived by her Uncle Grant of Texas, her Aunt Norma of N. Carolina and her nieces and nephews, Robert O’Brien of Illinois, Kevin O’Brien of S. Yarmouth, Claire O’Brien of N. Andover, Francis O’Brien of N. Carolina, Sophie O’Brien of N. Andover, and Kolby and Konor O’Brien of S. Yarmouth. She was aunt of the late Catherine O’Brien.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday, November 8 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home, 892 Main St. in Walpole.
Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in South Walpole.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m.
