Mr. Earlie Monroe Courson, age 96, passed away at Shady Acres Convalescent Home on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. Mr. Courson was a self employed service station operator and was a member of the West Green Church of God. He was born on October 23, 1914 to the late Dan and Penny Davis Courson. Mr. Courson’s first wife, Stella W. Courson, five brothers and two sisters and a stepson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 6, 2010 in the West Green Church of God at 11:00 a.m. with burial following in the Lone Hill Church Cemetery. Survivors include: wife: Addie Jo Solomon Courson, Broxton, GA; son: Charles (Lee) Courson, Douglas, GA; daughters: Wonell Busby, Savannah, GA, Jean Morris, Blackshear, GA, Ima Mellonee (Bob) , Nicholls, GA, Ruby (Billy) Davis, Douglas, GA, Ann (Billy) Guess, Valdosta, GA; sister: Betty Morris, Atlanta, GA; brother: Bobby Courson: Phillipines; stepdaughters: Wanda (Ronnie) Graham, Judy Bryant, Pridgen, GA; 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
