Ruth Molly Baron of Danvers and formerly of Medford and West Palm Beach, FL died on November 2. She was the beloved wife of Abraham Baron to whom she was married to for 64 years.
Ruth was a homemaker and is described as being an extremely dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was born in Boston and attended the Chelsea schools and graduated Chelsea High School. She went on to attend the Fisher Business School. Ruth was very active in many Jewish organizations including a life long member of Hadassah, a member of Temple Shalom in Medford and a member of the Women’s Council of Temple Shalom. While at the temple, Ruth ran many of the social luncheons and wrote as well as produced many fairy tales in Yiddish.
Before moving back to Massachusetts to be with her family, Ruth was very active in the River Bridge community where she lived with her dear husband. Ruth founded the River Bridge Jewish Heritage Club and served as it’s President for 9 years. She also produced and performed fairy tales in Yiddish while living in Florida. Ruth was Past President of the River Bridge Women’s Organization and is said to have “thrown the finest luncheons”. She was also active in many functions at Temple B’Nai Jacob in West Palm Beach. Ruth was a confidant to many, yet never put herself on a pedestal. Ruth was “everyone’s mother,” and cared for friends when whey were sick, all the while maintaining her wonderful sense of humor.
Ruth was the devoted mother of Michael Baron and his wife Leslie and Judith Fogarty and her husband Charles. She was the dear sister of the late Ida Rosenzwaig. Ruth was the loving grandmother of Eric Schnell, Lauren Davison and her husband Paul, Lee Baron, Andrew Scott Baron and his wife Bethany, and Suzanne DiMeco and her husband Leland. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Thursday, November 4 at 11:00AM. Interment in Everett. Memorial observance at her late residence in Danvers on Thursday 2-5 PM, Friday 2-5 PM, Saturday 6-8 PM, Sunday 12-5 PM, Monday 2-5PM, and Tuesday 2-5 PM.
