Edward A. McMaster, a 17 year resident of Hanson and formerly of Charlestown, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home in Hanson following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 55 years old.
Ed was born in Boston on February 27, 1955 to the late Warren and Gertrude (Brown) McMaster. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1973. He also recieved degrees from Boston University and Mount Washington. Ed had been working as an operator for American Sweeper for the last 4 years until his health forced him to retire. He loved fixing and buying antique cars, camping, hiking and spending time outdoors.
Ed is the beloved husband of Linda L. (Komnenus) McMaster. He is the devoted father of Robert McMaster of South Boston, Edward A. McMaster Jr. of Whitman, Brittney McMaster of Hanson and Warren McMaster of Hanson. He is the beloved brother of Michael McMaster of Brockton, Thomas McMaster and his wife Kim of Lynn and the late Daniel McMaster and Stephen McMaster. He is the son-in-law of Lorraine Sainato of Charlestown. He is the brother-in-law of Loren Hogan, Geraldine Sainato, Walter Komnenus, Robert Komnenus and Margie Gould. He is the dear friend of Claire and Joseph Tyler, Elizabeth and Wayne Princiotta, Joann and Michael Tobin and Eddie Mahan. He is the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eddie's Funeral on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m.
