Rev. Jay Frank Harris, of Plymouth, passed away on October 31st at the age of 65. Husband of Merrily (Wilson) of Plymouth. Father of Allen J. Harris and his wife Jennifer of Taunton. He also leaves a granddaughter, Lily Eden Harris. Brother of the late Eldon Jessie Harris. Born in Ridgeway, VA to the late Jesse and Ora Belle (Solomon) Harris, Jay graduated from Drewry Mason High School. Jay enlisted in the US Army serving in Vietnam as an Army Medic. After leaving the Army he went on to Patrick Henry College and Averett University and received his BA in Sociology with minor in social work, also attended Divinity School at Lee University in Cleveland TN. In 1987 he moved to Plymouth. He worked as a Senior Caseworker for Plymouth County House of Correction and was also a Pastor of Sunrise Church of God in North Carver. Visiting hours will be held at The Richard Davis Funeral Home 373 Court St (Rte 3A) N. Plymouth Thursday November 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held in Martinsville, VA on Saturday. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to The Sunrise Church of God C/O Merrily Harris 187 Carver Rd. Plymouth, MA 02360
