Peter P. Malatesta passed away on November 1, 2010. He was 88 years old.
Born in Malden, Peter was a long time resident of the city prior to moving to Nahant where he lived for the past 12 years. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Computer Operator for many years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII. He was also a member of the I.T.A.M.S Club of Malden.
Peter was the devoted husband of the late Margaret L. (Corrente) Malatesta, his wife for over 50 years. He was the beloved father of Richard Malatesta and his wife Vittoria of Nahant and Karen Malatesta of Georgetown and dear friend Cindy Grote of Marlboro. Peter was the brother of Edith and Janet Malatesta of Nahant, Lawrence Malatesta and his wife Patricia of Wakefield and the late Fred Malatesta and his late wife Gilda. He was the dear brother-in-law of Ed and Lola Corrente of Toronto, Canada and Mary Apicerno of Rhode Island and her late husband William. Peter was the cherished grandfather of Gabriella, Anthony, Victoria and Francesca Malatesta and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday, November 5th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday, November 4th from 3-8 p.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
