Mrs. Elizabeth Batten Sears, age 87, Douglas, GA passed away on Monday, November 1, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Sears was born on December 31, 1922 to the late Ben Aggie and Eunice Grantham Batten and she was the widow of Vollie Vernon Sears. She was preceded in death by sister: Tisha Overstreet and brothers: : Ben Batten, Jr. and Johnny Batten. A graveside service will be held at the Grantham Cemetery on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Survivors include: son: Bobby Sears, Douglas, GA; brother : Herbert Batten, Douglas, GA and granddaughter: Angie Merritt, Douglas, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at Sims Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
