Emily Lorraine Baldassarre, age 89 died peacefully surrounded by her five children and grandchildren on October 31, 2010 in Lynnfield, MA. Emily lived in Medford for more than 70 years, where she raised her five children. She was married to the late Pasquale Baldassarre, Esquire, for 30 years. Emily was born at home in the North End of Boston to Gaetano and Margaret Barile, Italian immigrant parents. She was the oldest of three siblings which include her sister Olga Beard (deceased) formerly of Winchester, MA and brother Pasquale Barile who died in World War II in the Battle of Normandy. Her greatest pleasure was her family and grandchildren. Emily was a voracious reader, enjoyed country music, following politics, but most of all cooking and feeding family and friends. Her sage advice and opinion were sought and respected by all who knew her and her sense of humor was enjoyed by all. She will be dearly missed by many. She leaves behind: her daughter Lydia Baldassarre and grandson William and granddaughter Emily of Wyckoff, NJ; son Dr. Marshall Baldassarre, his wife Dr. Pamela and granddaughter Laura and grandson Gregory of Bedford, NH; son Dr. Guy Baldassarre and his wife Eileen and grandsons Daniel and Adam of Tully, NY; son Andrew Baldassarre and grandson Drew and granddaughters Kathleen and Annemarie of West Hartford CT and daughter Patricia Birchem and her husband Mark and grandson Caleb and granddaughter Isabella of Wakefield.
Emily’s funeral will gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Thursday, November 4th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St Joseph Church High St. Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may visit with the family Wednesday from 5 thru 9. Burial will be private.
