Alberta V. Caffrey, 83, died October 23 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. She was born in Waltham, MA and lived in Vero Beach for 20 years coming from Gloucester, MA. Mrs. Caffrey was employed by the Grover Cronin Department Store, Waltham, MA as office manager and model, and as office manager for Homegas Corporation, Great Barrington, MA. She also worked at her husband’s car dealership, Caffrey Ford in Great Barrington, MA. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Grand Harbor Golf and Beach Club. Survivors include her husband of 60 years William L. Caffrey of Vero Beach, sons, Jonathan Caffrey of Duxbury, MA, Michael Caffrey of Uxbridge, MA, daughters, Deborah A. Novack of Old Lyme, CT, Patricia B. Caffrey of Gaithersburg, MD, Sara E. Smith of Vero Beach, Jennifer V. Himes of Temecula, CA, Carolyn J. Caffrey of Chelmsford, MA, 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to Save the Children Foundation, 54 Wilton Road, Westport, CT. 06880. SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. November 1, 2010 at Holy Family Parish, Duxbury, MA. Interment will follow at Bourne National Cemetery.
