WAYLAND: Jerome K. “Jerry” Chase, 84, died unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010.
He was born in New York City, New York on March 20, 1926 the son of the late Dr. Oscar J. Chase and Elaine (Klenke) Chase.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Anne (Buckout) Chase of Wayland. He was the loving father of Jerry K. Chase, Jr. and his wife Laurence of Essex; Nan Alphen and her husband Paul of Westford; Clay Chase and his wife Karen of Wayland; John Chase and his wife Louise of Leawood, KS; Bill Chase of Framingham and Wini Chase of Framingham. Cherished grandfather of Jake and Helen Chase; Paul and Christopher Alphen and the late Jack Alphen; Michael and Jennifer Chase and Ellie, John Jr., and Jerry Chase III. Brother of George Chase of Atlanta, GA and Peter Chase of Vero Beach, FL and the late Paul and Henry Chase. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jerry has been a resident of Wayland for over 36 years and previously resided in Scarsdale, NY and Weston, CT. He was a graduate of the Canterbury School with the Class of 1944 and Columbia University with the Class of 1951. He served his country proudly as a flight engineer with the rank of Sergeant with the United States Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific.
He began his career at Sinclair Oil in New Jersey and with Budd Automotive and the Ford Motor Company. He was the Owner and Founder of Framingham Ford since 1971. Framingham Ford continues as a family enterprise. He was an active and longtime communicant of St. Ann’s Parish. He enjoyed all of the New England sports teams, gardening at his home and especially the time he shared with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather to his family all of whom will miss him dearly.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Rd (OFF Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at St. Ann’s Parish, 124 Cochituate Rd (Rte 27), Wayland,
Interment will follow at the North Cemetery in Wayland.
