Worcester - Beatrice E. (Scott) Costello, 92, died peacefully, Sunday, October 31, 2010, after a brief illness. Her husband of 32 years, Thomas F. Costello, Jr., died in 1975. She leaves three sons, a daughter, three daughter in-laws, and a son in-law; Thomas M. and Nancy A. Costello of Holden, Bruce J. and Judith M. Costello of Auburn, Gail A. (Costello) and Henry Enman of Holden, and Gary K. and Cathleen M. Costello of Auburn; nine grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Scott and three sisters, Charlotte D’Amelio, Pauline Berquist, and Phyllis Wall.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Carlson) Scott. Beatrice was a graduate of Commerce High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was very active in the AARP and enjoyed going on trips with local senior citizen groups. She was an Election Day poll worker and warden starting with the presidential election of 1960. Bea was a proud grandmother of 9 college educated grandchildren, former President of East Kendall Street School Mothers Club, avid rug braider, and card player.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 5-8 p.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
