SHERLOCK, Joseph Edward was born on March 19, 1921 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He was a warrant officer in World War II, serving with the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, the elite Ghost Army, which specialized in missions to deceive the Germans from Normandy to the Rhine. Joseph was a graduate of Pratt Institute and had a distinguished career in industrial design in New York City for almost forty years. He was the loving husband of Rose Clare Sherlock for 52 years and the devoted father of five children. He is survived by his three sons, Joseph, Thomas and his wife Cynthia, Brian and his wife Cindy, his two daughters, Christine and her husband Stephen and Clare, and by his six grandchildren, Aaron, Sarah, Brian, John, Matthew and Andrew. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peter’s RCC in River Edge, NJ on Thursday, November 4 at 10:30 A.M. Interment to follow at Mary Rest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital would be greatly appreciated by the family.
