SPENCER: Lucille D. (Bernard) Hopkins 90, of Spencer died peacefully at her home on Friday, October 29.
She leaves her husband of 65 years John E. Hopkins, her daughters Victoria H. Provost and her husband Russell of Richmond, N.H., and Gretchen A. Hopkins of New York City, three grandchildren John Hopkins Lynch, Ann Victoria Lynch and Indiana Hopkins Kolb.
Lucille was a graduate of David Prouty High School, a member of the former St. Mary’s Church and its’ St. Anne’s Sodality. She was also a longtime member of the Women’s Auxillary at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. She was an avid reader with a great sense of humor. Lucille enjoyed dancing, laughing and spending time with her family and friends.
Born in Spencer, she was the daughter of George and Victoria (Parenteau) Bernard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will precede the service on Wednesday from 10 to 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Rd., Charlton, Ma. 01507.
