Gilford-----James E. McKenna, 80, of 2600 Lake Shore Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Wednesday, October 27, 2010.
Mr. McKenna was born January 4, 1930 in Boston, Mass., the son of James M. and Bessie (Lander) McKenna. He was a 25 yr resident of Gilford, previously from Stoughton and Easton, Mass. and had been employed at ADT for twenty-three years and was owner of Winnipesaukee Security for twenty years until his retirement.
Mr. McKenna was a member of the Gilford Community Church. He was a cubmaster and scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for twenty-five years and was an active member and past president of the Lake Shore Park Association.
Mr. McKenna enjoyed his morning coffee with “Moe” at the Union Diner.
Mr. McKenna is survived by his wife, Geraldine E. (Fitch) McKenna, of Gilford; two sons, Bruce McKenna and his wife, Jennifer, of Gilford and Peter J. McKenna of Holiday, Florida; a daughter, Debra J. Marcotte and her husband, Russell, of Columbia, N.H.; five grandchildren, Brianne Siepiola, Tyson McKenna, Brittni-Linne McKenna, Shawn Hall, Leighanne Marcotte, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, N.H. Rev. Michael Graham, pastor of the church, will officiate.
