Mary Anne Womack Burns, age 80, died on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley, MS. Mary Anne was born on December 17, 1929 in Oxford, MS to the late Lewis Clinton and Mary Etta Spears Womack. She was a secretary for many years and retired from Sunburst Bank in Grenada, MS. Mrs. Burns was a member of the 20th Century Club in Coffeeville, MS for many years. Mary Anne was a Sunday School secretary, a dedicated Sunday School teacher and member of the choir at Coffeeville United Methodist Church. She loved her children and grandchildren and was affectionately called “Memaw” by everyone.
The visitation will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Coffeeville United Methodist Church. The service will begin at 3:00 PM following the visitation, with Rev. Hal Hall officiating. Tyler Wortham, Jr., Carter Brandon, Smiley Arrington II, B.B. Billingsly, William McCullar, and Johnny Parker will serve as pallbearers. Mary Anne’s nine grandsons, Jonathan Freer, Rodney Eubanks,Ron Eubanks, Jeff Eubanks, McRae Burns, Cole Burns, Caleb Childs, Forrest Hollinger, and Garrett Bardo will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mary Anne is survived by four daughters, Beverly (Allen) Freer of Coffeeville, MS, Gay (Jimmy) Eubanks of Water Valley, MS, Bonnie (Gene) Childs of West Point, MS and Kathy (Perry) Rowe of Myrtle, MS; one son, Mack (Shannon) Burns, Jr. of Coffeeville, MS; thirteen grandchildren, Chasity Logsdon, Maci McLendon, Olivia Burns, Beth Kizer, Jonathan Freer, Rodney Eubanks, Ron Eubanks, Jeff Eubanks, McRae Burns, Cole Burns, Caleb Childs, Forrest Hollinger, and Garrett Bardo; and four great-grandchildren, Rayna Eubanks, Hayden Eubanks, Kyle Scott, and Rusty Kizer.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick McRae.
