COCHITUATE: Irene L. (Cormier) Burgett, 86, died peacefully under the care and comfort of her family on Tuesday evening, October 26, 2010 following a brief illness.
She was born in Newton on July 18, 1924 the daughter of the late Henry Cormier and Elizabeth (Redenbach) Cormier.
She is survived by her devoted children; Robert W. Burgett of Cochituate, Steven H. Burgett of Cochituate, Gary M. Burgett and his wife Renee of Scottsdale, AZ, Susan E. Baraldi and her husband John of Chelmsford, Brian P. Burgett of Medway and Rodman J. Burgett and his wife Jennifer of Holliston. Loving grandmother of Heather Burgett, Devin Burgett, Benjamin Burgett, Evan Burgett, John Baraldi, Blair Baraldi, Elise Burgett, Sara Burgett, Jessie Burgett, Grace Burgett, Luke Burgett and Joel Burgett. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late Rodman Joseph Burgett who died in November of 1998.
Mrs. Burgett has been a resident of Cochituate for over 57 years and spent her formative years in West Newton. She was a graduate of Newton High School. She has been a longtime communicant of St. Zepherin’s Church and active in the Women’s Club, the Fall Fair and was devoted to her faith. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an excellent cook. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched.
At Mrs. Burgett’s request, there will be no funeral home visitations.
Family and Friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Cochituate.
Interment will follow in the Burgett family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Irene’s memory may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
