Wayne J. Lund, 59

Dateline: Norton, MA

Wayne J. Lund, 59, of Norton passed away on Thursday October 28, 2010 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Joanne F. (Burgess) Lund to whom he was wed on May 9, 1980.
Born in Manchester, England on April 13, 1951, he was a loving son of Joyce (Young) Lund of Attleboro and the late William Lund.
A resident of the Chartley section of Norton for over 30 years, Wayne spent his early childhood living in England. He later settled in Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro public schools.
Mr. Lund was a Parts Distributor and had worked for Chrysler in Mansfield for several years before retiring. He had formerly been employed at the Fortifiber Corporation in Attleboro, was a former truck driver for hazardous waste materials, and when younger worked as a steeplejack.
Wayne and his family were supporters of the Chartley United Methodist Church in Norton. He enjoyed vacationing in New Hampshire and Maine, holidays spent with his adoring family and taking cruises to warm and sunny destinations with his wife Joanne.
An avid car enthusiast, he particularly had an interest in Chrysler and Jeep vehicles. He
held a special place in his heart for animals and was also a lover of bagpipe music. Wayne was a familiar face at Twin Rivers in Rhode Island where he made many friends and also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino.
In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his devoted children Alan S. Bliss and his wife Charlotte of Norton, Donna L. Bliss-Richer of Springvale, Maine, Tracy L. St. Germain of Norton and Cheryl L. “Sherrie" Ratcliffe and her husband Al of Cranston, RI. The dear brother of Sandra Minichiello of Georgia, he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Amanda, Ashley, Alyssa, Amber, Justin, Brendan, Trevor, Ariana and Alexis, his great grandson Brayden, his brother in law retired Norton Fire Chief George F. Burgess and his wife Debbie of Norton, as well as 6 nephews and 1 niece.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Monday November 1st from 4-7 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Services will be held on Monday evening at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date in the Stevens Corner Cemetery, Rehoboth.
In lieu of flowers, Wayne’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Chartley Methodist Church 78 South Worcester St. Norton, MA 02766.
