Edmund A. Correia Sr., age 82 of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home with his family on October 27, 2010. He was the widower of Eileen (Dias) Correia & the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pimentel Almeida) Correia. He was a Veteran of WW II, where he served as a Paratrooper in the Medical Corp of the U.S. Army. Before retiring, Ed owned Wilco
Painting and Construction in Fall River for over 30 years, where he worked with his longtime friend William Worsley. He was a loving father and grandfather & enjoyed collecting war literature and a longtime volunteer at Camp Welch in Assonet. He was also a member of St. Michael Church.
He is survived by 5 children: Deborah Romano of Berkley; John Correia and his wife Christine of Norton, Sheila Correia, Melanie Levesque and her husband Armand, Edmund Correia Jr. and his wife Candace all of Fall River; 5 siblings: Antone A. Correia of FL, Joseph Correia, Matilda Souza, Madeline Coutroubis and Irene Orlando all of Fall River; 8 grandchildren & several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur, Alban, and Louis Correia, Mary Souza, Inez Correia, and Theresa Barboza.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River SATURDAY at 8:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 9:00AM. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Fall River c/o Camp Welch.
