DRAPINSKI, Thelma "Joan" (Britton)- Of Malden, formerly of Chelsea, October 26th. Devoted wife of the late Frank J. Drapinski. Beloved mother of Francis J. Drapinski and his wife Anne of Malden and the late Carol Ann Drapinski. Dear sister of Gina Fortier and Donna Ashman both of NH and the late Joseph Britton, Florence Bocchino and William Barry. Cherished grandmother of Lauren, Alexander, Jonathan, Jason and Samantha. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, October 30th at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden. Committal Services will be private. Expressions of sympathy in "Joan's" name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
Born in Everett and a longtime Chelsea resident until moving to Malden 7 years ago, Joan, at 77 years of age, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital late Tuesday evening after a long illness. A member of the Red Hats, her working career started first at the Saugus Bank and Trust, and then for 5 years she worked as the manager of Alves Hallmark also in Saugus. Her last job, for almost 20 years until her retirement was in the ATM accounts department at East Boston Savings Bank, at their Central Square, Maverick Square and Orient Heights branches.
