Obituary

Boylston - Norman C. Crane, 78, died at Saint Vincent Hospital on October 27, 2010. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Howard Partridge and Pauline (Lindquist) Crane. Husband of the late Nancy E. (Case) Crane, he is survived by his three children, Jeffrey H. Crane, Cynthia A. Farrar and her husband Scott, and Charles T. Crane and his wife Elaine and their mother, his first wife, Judith A. (Maddocks) Goodnow. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, several nephews and nieces, and a loving and devoted friend, Theresa Woodman. A brother, Harold Crane and a sister, Priscilla Merrill predeceased him.

Norman was a graduate of Major Victor E. Edwards High School (West Boylston), Worcester Jr. College (Magna Cum Laude), and Clark University (B.B.A.) Class of 1959. He served as an M.P. and x-ray technician in the Army while stationed in Germany. After working as a salesman of pre-engineered buildings and owning and operating several service stations, Norman was a long-time employee of Cincinnati Milacron, Heald Machine Division where he worked in numerous positions throughout the company. He had a life-long passion for motorcycles, sailing, flying and R.C. model airplanes. He had his private pilot's license and was a member of Aircraft Owners & Pilots Assn., and the NRA.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 11:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A calling hour will be held at 10:00 prior to the service.
