Ruth A. Simoneau, 92, of Laconia died January 29, 2002 in the Laconia Center, Genesis Eldercare Network after a long illness. She was born in Worcester MA, the daughter of Joseph and Bessie (Robbins) MacLeod and had been a resident of Laconia since 1957.
She was a resident of Lynn MA for more than thirty years and moved here with her husband Ernest J. Simoneau following his retirement from the I TT Illumination Co. Mrs. Simoneau was employed by the F. W. Woolworth Company for more than 40 years. She worked in the Lynn, MA store for 27 years and transferred to the Laconia store in August of 1957.
She was a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church and was an active member of the Laconia Christian Women’s Club. In addition, she was a member of the Opechee Garden Club and the Laconia Women’s Club.
Her husband died in 1971. She leaves no immediate survivors.
There are no calling hours. A funeral ceremony will be held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Saturday at 10 AM. Rev. John W. Hillyer, Pastor of the Evangelical Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be Monday at 11 AM in the Lakeview Cemetery, Upton MA. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
