Obituary

METHUEN – Mildred T. (Rudis) Strauten died Tuesday October 26, 2010 after a long and full life, with her children by her side.

Born in Lawrence to the late Bernard and Mary Rudis, she graduated from St. Mary’s High School and worked at the Bolta Company before marrying her handsome Army Air Corps pilot. In her earlier years, she volunteered at the Bon Secours Hospital, worked on the Red Feather Drive, learned to fence and ski and assisted her husband with his lumber business and the Kiwanis Club duties, and joined him on his many outdoor adventures.


She was the beloved wife of the late Waldemar Strauten, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Milly’s lifelong joy was her family and the loving home she created for them.

She leaves her cherished family; daughter Jean and her husband Frederick Driscoll; son Robert and his fiancé Lisa Longtin
Grandson Peter Driscoll and his wife Arielle, granddaughter Elizabeth Driscoll Merrill and her husband Shaun.
Sister-in-law Mary Rudis and family
Her niece Dorothy Nolin and family, several cousins, great-nieces and nephews and her longtime friend Yvette Guerin of California.
Milly was pre-deceased by her brothers Joseph and Frank Rudis and her sister Ann Hoessler and as a child a twin sister Marilyn.

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in her name to the MSPCA 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844. Family and friends may call on Thursday 3:00p.m. – 5:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:30a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
