Obituary

BEVERLY: Alice (Wisniewski) Ritchie, 82, formerly of Bertram Street, died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Radius Healthcare Center in Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Thomas J. Ritchie who died in 2001.
Born in Salem on November 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Mary (Maga) Wisniewski. She had attended Salem public schools and has resided in Beverly most of her life.
Alice was employed as a wire cutter at Hotwatt, Inc. in Danvers for many years before her retirement. She was also very active in the Girl Scouts and enjoyed playing bingo, the Y.M.C.A. and she especially loved family gatherings at the holidays.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda A. and David A. Masse of Salem and Nancy E. Ritchie of Ocala, FL; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul T. and Beth Ritchie of Rowley; four grandchildren, Alan Perry, Danielle and Kimberley Masse and Paul D’Angelo; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Carson; two brothers, Stanley and Joseph Wisniewski and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Perry and four sisters, Helen Hanson, Stella Cote, Clara Balchunas and Jessie Rachions.
Visiting hours for Alice will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 5 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Funeral services will be privately held in the North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Aids Action Committee, 75 Amory St., Boston, MA 02119.
