Obituary

Anna (Feliks) Skammels, 93, of Westport passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. She was the loving wife of Francis J. Skammels and was wife of the late William T. Carey who lost his life in WWII.

Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Casimir and Mary (Glowacka) Feliks, she had lived in Westport since 1960. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School Class of 1935. A veteran of WWII, she served her country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement in 1978, she had worked for the City of Fall River in the Veterans Benefits Department. Mrs. Skammels was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.

Including her husband, survivors include 2 sons: Thomas C. Skammels and Jack Skammels and his wife Pamela both of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Jessica, Mia, Kailan and Seth Skammels and Justin Remy; and close friends Diane and John Colletti.

She was sister of the late Matthew Feliks.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, October 29, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
