Hallett Jr., Joseph J., 65, died at his home in Wellesley, MA on October 23 after a courageous struggle with brain cancer.
Born in Rochester, NY, Joe received his MD from the University of Rochester with distinction in research, and completed a pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins followed by a research and clinical fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He most recently served as Director of the Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Center and Pediatrician-in-Chief at Memorial Hospital of RI, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Brown University Medical School. He was dedicated to caring for underserved children and passionate about his neuroscience research.
Joe was a devoted husband to his wife, Susan, and loving father to their three children, Joe, Lindsay, and Kathryn. He was a beloved brother to his siblings Brien, Ellen, Irene, and David, and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.
Joe loved family and was always present for special occasions. Family relied on his constant care and encouragement. He enjoyed outdoor adventure and world travel, especially to warm weather destinations. He had a sharp wit and lifelong intellectual curiosity. He delighted in good conversation and was a mentor to many. His generosity and support were endless.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul Parish, Wellesley, MA at 11 AM on Saturday, November 6.
