Mr. Joseph M. Conforto, Sr., age 57 of Medford, died Tuesday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He is the husband of Donna (Golden) Conforto with whom he shared more than 27 years of marriage. Mr. Conforto was born in Malden, son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Houde) Conforto. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Conforto was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1971. He continued his education with classes in food preparation at the prestigious Johnson & Wales.
He worked as an Executive Chef, employed by the Tecce Family of restaurant fame. At various times he was the chef in Tecce’s Restaurant in Boston’s North End and also in Bambino’s Restaurant in Malden as well as other fine restaurants and establishments. He had a great love for spending time with family and could be considered a homebody. Cooking was his life and he would prepare culinary delights regularly at home. A lifelong Medford resident, he enjoyed watching the History Channel and greatly admired the Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He was a TV football fan and created great feasts for the annual Super Bowl games.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph M. Conforto Jr. of Medford, two stepchildren Amy Creador and her husband Jason, Adam Laub and his wife Heather all of Winthrop. Grandfather of Brandon & Emily Creador. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, Friday at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours have been omitted.
