Eunice G. (Hutchins) Sweeney, a life long resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late John L. Sweeney, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Home in Andover on Monday morning, October 25, 2010. She was 82 years old.
Born in Andover, Massachusetts, on February 23, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late George S. and Mary C. (Fitzgerald) Hutchins. Eunice was a lifelong communicant of St. Augustine Church in Andover. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always tending to her families needs.
She will be sorely missed by her children; Joan and her husband Henry Wrigley, Daniel J. and his wife Donna Sweeney, Mary and her husband Bernard Hanson, Kathleen Deschene and John D. and his wife Barbara Sweeney, all of Andover, one sister; Marie Gill of Rhode Island, sixteen grandchildren six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Eunice was also the beloved mother of the late Leo A. Sweeney.
Her Funeral was celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Wednesday, October 27, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover.
