Obituary

BAIKA, ALFONSAS JR. of South Boston, passed away Oct. 24 after a courageous

long battle with cancer at age 65. He is survived by his loving & devoted wife Katherine

(Dwyer), father of Keith J. Baika, brother of Ronald "Beau" Baika & his wife Pearl all of So.

Boston, sister Regina "Reggi" Baika & husband Warren Marion of Salem, NH, stepchildren

Richard MacDonald of Pembroke & Stephen MacDonald of

Weymouth. Grandchildren Samantha & Sean MacDonald. Son of the late Aleksandra and

Alfonsas Sr. Visiting hours will be held in Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester St., South

Boston from 3-8 P.M. on Friday. Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday at 10 A.M. in

St. Peter Lithuanian Church. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery. Retired from City of

Boston, where he worked as a civil engineer over 37 years. Served 10 yrs. as president of

AFSCME-AFLCIO. Past board of director & lifetime member of South Boston Lithuanian

Club. U.S. Army veteran. Inducted into South Boston Football Hall of Fame. Any donations
