Obituary

WORCESTER-John J. Sliwoski, 89, of Worcester, passed away Saturday, October 23rd in Marlborough Hills Healthcare, Marlborough, with his family by his side. His wife, Antoinette E. (Jonis) Sliwoski, died in 1992. He leaves three sons, Richard F. Sliwoski and his wife Leslie of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert J. Sliwoski and his wife Linda of West Boylston, and John J. Sliwoski of Cathedral City, CA; a daughter, Janet S. LaPierre-Green and her husband Jim of Palm Desert, CA; a brother, Joseph Sliwoski of Worcester; six grandchildren, Amie, Beth, Lauren, Christopher, Justin, and Kyle ; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Benjamin, and Charles Sliwoski and a grandson, Michael Sliwoski.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Francis and Katherine (Sliwoska) Sliwoski and graduated from Leicester High School. Mr. Sliwoski was a mechanic for The Teamsters Local 170 for many years, retiring in 1985. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, The Teamsters Local 170, and the Polish American Veterans.

The funeral is Friday, October 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 28th in the funeral home.
