Jack A. Lobo, 66, of Brava, Cape Verde died October 22, 2010 unexpectedly at Miriam Hospital.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late John S. and Ana (Andrade) Lobo, he lived in Holland, Chelsea, Brockton and Pawtucket before returning to Brava.
Mr. Lobo was formerly employed as a merchant mariner for over 20 years until his retirement.
He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and socializing.
Survivors include 2 sons, Antonio Lobo of Brava, Cape Verde and Jack Lobo, Jr. of Florida; 4 daughters, Jacqueline Lobo of Brockton, Sherry Lee Lobo of Boston, Genevieve Vieira of Pawtucket and Ana Maria Lobo of Brava, Cape Verde; 5 brothers, Napoleon Lobo of Chelsea, Sebastian Lobo of New Bedford, Joseph Lobo of Dartmouth, Edward Lobo of New Bedford and John Lobo, Jr. of Marion; 4 sisters, Eva Gibeau of New Hampshire, Eugenia Fortes of New Bedford, Edith Rosa of Pawtucket, RI and Maria Lobo-Gomes of Indianapolis, IN; 10 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Domingas Gibau.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, October 27th at 7:30 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 8:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, October 26th from 4-8 PM.
