DUDLEY - Sophia (Kotoulas) Siozopoulos, 78, died Friday, October 22, 2010, in Oakwood Rehab & Nursing Center with her dedicated husband and loving daughters at her side.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Vasilios T. Siozopoulos; 2 daughters, Steliane V. Thompson and her husband David P. Thompson of Holden, and Despina and Daniel Kiely of Dudley; 5 grandchildren, William, Elias and Nicholas Thompson, and Alexandra and Christopher Kiely; 2 sisters, Glyceria Partsalis of Dudley and Vasiliki Dongas in Greece; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister.
She was born in Greece, a daughter of Christos and Photini (Tzimoulis) Kotoulas. She married her childhood sweetheart and lifelong friend in 1956 and moved to Dudley.
Together with her husband, she owned and operated the Mini Mart of Main Street in Webster for over 30 years.
She was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Webster and of its Philoptochos Society.
Her family was her treasure. She was especially dedicated to her grandchildren. Mrs. Siozopoulos became a friend to all the people she met and touched their lives.
The funeral service will be held Monday, October 25, at 9:30 AM in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway, Webster. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours wills be from 4:30 to 7:30 PM Sunday, October 24, in the church, with a Trisagion service at 7:00 PM. Flowers may be sent or donations in her name be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, PO Box 713, Webster, MA 01570-0713. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
