Brother of Joseph Famularo of Rockland and Katrina Famularo and Josephine Lirosi both of Brockton.
Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Famularo died Monday morning at the Braemoor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brockton after a period of failing health.He was born in Brockton son of the late Rudolph and Maria (Cicioni) Famularo and remained a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1936.
During WW II he served in the US Army 185th Ordinance in the European Theater.In 1980 Mr. Famularo retired from the Plymouth County Superior Courthouse in Brockton after many years. He previously worked in the circulation department of the Brockton Enterprise and Frye’s Cigar Store in downtown Brockton.
Mr. Famularo was involved in local charitable organizations and was honored by the Lions Club for collecting used eyeglasses. He had been a member of the Sons of Italy and was a former chaplain of the Brockton AARP.He was a longtime communicant and usher of St. Patrick Church where he and his wife helped to start its Bingo program.
In addition to his wife of 59 years he is survived by two sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildrenHe leaves one brother, two sisters and many nieces and nephewsHe was also the brother of the late Mary Cerci
