Obituary

Mrs. Hallie Mae Barnes Lane, age 80, widow of the late Odell Lane, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on, Thursday, October 21, 2010 at her home.Mrs. Lane was born in Stokes County on May 11, 1930 to the late Samuel Edgar and Cora Lillie Heath Barnes. Mrs. Lane worked as a homemaker and was a member of The Word of God Baptist Church.Mrs. Lane is survived by two daughters, Kathy Manring, of Pilot Mtn., Tammy O’Neal and son-in-law, Dennis of Mt. Airy; one brother, Bill Barnes of Pinnacle and a twin sister and brother-in-law, Mallie (John) Shelton; sister, Hazel Moser, all of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren, Jason Manring of Pilot Mountain, Janet Manring (Kelly Moser) of Mt. Airy, Julie O’Neal Tucker of Mount Airy and Jacob O’Neal of Winston-Salem; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Tucker and many special friends.Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Word of God Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. J.K. Faries officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery.Mrs. Lane is preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Chapel.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Mt.
