LEICESTER: Ruth M. (Robertson) Beauregard 89, of Leicester, died Friday, Oct. 22 at her home.
She leaves her husband of 66 years Paul H. Beauregard, her children P.Thomas Beauregard of Cumberland, RI., Elaine Amendola and her husband Ralph of Cheshire, Ct., and Dennis Beauregard and his wife Cheryl of Lakeland, Fl., two sisters Evelyn Jamieson of Port St. Lucie, Fl., and Ada McMeekin of Chesterfield, Missouri, six grandchildren Brett, Seth, Amy, Holly, Derrick and Heath, ten great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Ellen Moon.
Ruth was a Registered Nurse and Supervisor of Nursing at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester for 25 years, she then was the School Nurse at the Memorial School in Leicester before retiring in 1982.
Born in Nova Scotia, Can., she was the daughter of Robert F. and Mary Ethel (Ogilvie) Robertson. She graduated from North High and the Worcester Hahnemann School of Nursing in 1943.
Ruth was a member of St. Pius X Parish, the Leicester Women’s Club, Leicester Red Hat Society and a former Girl Scout leader in Leicester. She enjoyed knitting for family and friends and her winters in Florida for over 25 years. “Nammy Beau” will be missed by all of her grand and great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Monday, October 25 from the MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
