Methuen, MA – Frederick L. “Freddy” Bradley, Jr. died Wednesday October 20, 2010 at the Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.
Mr. Bradley, 77, was born May 14, 1933 in Lawrence the son of Frederick L., Sr. and Mildred (McDonnell) Bradley. He was a graduate of the Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen.
Freddy was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War prior to being honorably discharged.
For many years he had been employed with the Verizon Company as an Estimate Line Assigner.
Frederick, was an active communicant of Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen.
He was a strong family man and a devoted father and grandfather. Mr. Bradley was a permanent fixture at all sporting events for his family. He was considered an honorary coach at Whittier Tech. athletic events, and also held several basketball scoring records while attending the Edward F. Searles High School. He also enjoyed traveling to Aruba, Las Vegas, and Foxwoods. Frederick was a member of the Lawrence B.P.O.E. # 65 Lodge of Elks.
Mr. Bradley was the widower of Leona D. (Slosek) Bradley.
Survivors include his children: “Coach” Kevin E. and his wife Ellen Bradley, and Sean and his wife Karla (Pattavina) Bradley all of Methuen, 5 grandchildren; Leah, Connor, Kevin, Nicholas, and Shauna, as well as his loving friend and companion Donna Whittaker of Methuen. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and wife Leonard and Karen Slosek of North Andover, Ma. and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday morning at 10:30 AM in Saint Monica’s Church of Methuen with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1-5 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
