Robert G. “Mac” McCarthy, 60, of Medway, died, Monday, October 18, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (LeBlanc) McCarthy since 1994.
Born in Boston on February 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert and Patricia (Dunne) McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy was a resident of Medway for several years until moving to North Conway about five years ago and returning to Medway in June.
Mr. McCarthy retired as the Asst. Deputy Superintendent from the Dedham Jail & House of Correction where he worked for 25 years. After retirement, he was a sergeant at the Carroll County Jail in Ossipee, NH for 3 years.
Mr. McCarthy was a Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War.
Besides his wife, he is survived by; three step-children, Melissa Davis of Douglas, Craig Will of Medway and Jessica Will of Douglas.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, Amber & Justin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, October 30 at 11 a.m. in the Medway Community Church, 193 Main St. in West Medway.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.
