George J. McManus age 76 died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Southeastern Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Roberta A. (D’Arigo) and had been a resident of Whitman for many years.
George was born in Boston and raised in North Quincy a son of the late Kathleen (Corrigan) and George J. McManus, Sr. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. George retired from the Whitman Foundry in 1993 after many years of service and previously worked as a ship builder for General Dynamics in Quincy. He was a member of the Whitman VFW Post.
George was the father of Michael McManus of Bridgewater, Letitia McManus of Brockton, Stacie McDonald of Florida and the late Patrick, Thomas and Kevin McManus.
Graveside Services were held Thursday October 21, 2010 at the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne.
