Beatrice Vitella (Artone) Galli, a homemaker and retired assistant at the Malden Planning Board, was born on a farm in Hanover, MA where she lived with her parents, Giussepina and Pellegrino Artone, and four brothers and three sisters. They moved to 15 Dane Street, Somerville, MA, where she met her sweetheart Joseph Marcello Galli, with whom she corresponded during his three years of service in Europe during World War II and she was a Business Professional Woman with the Greater Boston USO. They were married in 1946. Bea and Joe moved to 236 Webster Street, Malden, where they brought up their three sons, Stephen, Joseph, and Kenneth. Bea’s cooking was legendary, as was her gentle kindness to all around her.
Bea had many interests, including gardening and sewing, and was active in the St. Joseph Parish, where she tirelessly volunteered as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She had many friends, in addition to a large extended family.
