George H. Louzon, Sr. C.P.O., U.S. Navy, Ret.

...veteran of 3 wars; family in Chelmsford, Tewksbury and Middleton; 82

LARGO, FLORIDA - Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, George H. Louzon, U.S. Navy, age 82,died Tuesday morning, Dec. 9, at the Bay Pines Veterans Administration Hospital in St.Petersburg, Fla., after a brief illness. He was the husband of Irene C. (Perry) Louzon, with whomhe had celebrated a 57 year wedding anniversary on November 3.

He was born in Lynn, Mass, Jan. 28, 1921, the son of the late George A. and Lillian (Burrill)Lauzon. He was raised in Lynn and graduated Lynn English High School. He later lived inCalifornia, Lynn, and Amesbury. During the last 10 years, he wintered in Largo, Florida andsummered in Tewksbury and Amesbury.

He enlisted into the U. S. Navy during WWII, served through the Korean War, and washonorably discharged during the Vietnam War. During his final tour of duty, he was stationedaboard the U.S.S. Grand Canyon, based in Newport, R.I..

His career continued as a technician for Draper Laboratories in Cambridge, until retirement 10years ago.

He was active in the Fleet Reserve Club in Fla., and a member of the D.A.V.

Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law; Diane L. and her husbandAngelo Castellana of Middleton, Kathleen E. and her husband Alfred Arsenault of Chelmsford,and Lillian and her husband Robert Tucceri of Tewksbur; one sister, Rita Erekson of Lynn; 9grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, George and Debra Arsenault, Robert, Kenneth and LauraTucceri, Donna Susser and Terri Brown; 4 great grandchildren, Julia, Benjamin, Jackson, andCatherine; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also brother of the late Laura Boysi and Janet Waitt.

His funeral was held Saturday, Dec. 13, in St. William’s Church. Interment with Navy Honors was held at Tewksbury Cemetery.
