Glinda Barnes Cone, 64, of Enigma died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Larry Cone and Rev. James Irions will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Buddy Dowdy, Ricky Barnes, Rayford Barnes, Dale Clemons, Matt Barnes and Terry Lupo will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Dowdy, Derek Dowdy, Alex Carter, Josh Barnes, Kelly Ward, John Hughes, Mitchell Barnes, Mike Barnes, Randall Barnes and Carroll Akridge. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Cone was born on July 2, 1946 in Tifton and was the daughter of L. F. (LeFaite) "Fate" Barnes and Myrtle Irene Rowe Barnes, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Henry Cone, Jr.; one brother, Charles Barnes; and two sisters, Joan Barnes Tyson and Dale Barnes. She was a homemaker and a member of Barnes Chapel in Enigma.
Ms. Cone is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee and Wallace Hughes of Enigma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Tweety Barnes of Enigma and Wayne and Brenda Barnes of Tifton; one sister, Bootsie Dowdy of Enigma; two grandchildren, Eric Hughes and Amanda Hughes; and several nieces and nephews, who were cherished very much.
