Obituary

Richard E. Simard, 67, of Manchester died the evening of October 17, 2010 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Manchester on November 4, 1942, the son of Lionel R. and Irene (Paquette) Simard. He attended St. Anthony Grammar School, Manchester High School Central, New England College, and earned his degree from the University of New Hampshire.
Richard owned and operated both Granite State Office Systems and Granite State Office Supplies for over 30 years. After a short retirement, he began Alpha Business Services and was also involved in estate management.
Active in his community, he served on the board of various local charitable organizations and was a member of the One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood as well as the Rotary Club International. He loved playing golf, cooking, and following both the Patriots and Red Sox. Above all else, Richard loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Family members include his children, Kenneth Simard Sr. of Goffstown, Linda Simard of Florida, Debbie White and her husband Dana of Manchester; his former wife of over 27 years, Robin Simard and their children, Richella Simard of Manchester, Rhianna Simard of Bedford, and Richard Simard of Bedford; two grandchildren, Kenneth Simard Jr. and Larry Allard Jr.; one brother, Robert L. Simard and his wife Claire of Manchester; one sister, Elaine T. Tickler and her husband William of Manchester; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
The funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday, October 21, 2010 in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
